Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) is a secret weapon with lengthy requirements to obtain.
To wield it you'll need all five Thor item pieces equipped. They consist of Thor's Cape, Battle Plate, Helmet, Gauntlets and Breeches. If you don't have the set you will not be able to interact with the hammer.
Things you'll need to have done:
- Defeat all three Daughters of Lerion. This grants three armour pieces, one for each daughter.
- Obtain Thor's helmet. This cannot be obtained without defeating all daughters.
- Eliminate all Order of the Ancients members. This will likely come after story completion and rewards you with Thor's Cape.
- Finish the story. Which is needed to reached the very northern edge of Norway where Thor's Hammer is located.
Step 1: The Daughters of Lerion.
These are powerful witches and when defeated will reward you with a unique dagger and a piece of Thor’s armour. They appear as mystery icons on the world map and are quite distinctive when found.
Though completely possible with lower power levels, I strongly recommend completing some, if not all of the story before attempting them.
Daughter #1: Goneril – Grantebridgescire
At power level 90, Goneril has vanishing and duplicating fight mechanics making abilities tricky to land and often miss. Your best friend for this fight is dodging constantly. Using light hits and dodging will make her stagger when her rune attacks don’t land. Never stay still and your odds of winning are increased.
Daughter #2: Cordelia – East Anglia
At power level 340 this is not an easy fight. Her fight mechanics are less annoying than Goneril though. Cordelia is all about speed, she attacks fast and leaps at you from a far. Dodge her red rune attacks as soon as you see them and keep an eye on your stamina. If you run out of stamina and you can’t dodge her red rune attacks, the fight will be over very quickly.
Daughter of Lerion #3 – Regan
At level 160, Regan will fight very similarly to Goneril. She likes to teleport and duplicate making abilities hard to land. Like Goneril, dodging and attacking with light attacks are key to winning the fight. At 50% health Regan will start using fire attacks making it near impossible to avoid being set on fire.
Step 2: Thor’s Helmet.
There is a Lerion Statue you can find at the end of an underground tunnel in East Anglia. Using the three daggers you got from the Daughters of Lerion, you can complete the statue and reveal a new path to a wealth chest. This chest contains Thor’s Helmet.
Nice easy step this one, after your hard battles with the daughters.
Step 3: Defeating Order of the Ancients.
This is fairly time consuming and has some story constraint where game progression is needed.
There are 45 Order of the Ancients targets and we need to eliminate all of them to obtain Thor’s Cape. 13 are story related and cannot be missed and the other 32 are found in the open world.
Defeating order targets works towards the quest line “Breaking the Order” by Hytham. You will need to build the Hidden Ones Bureau at your settlement in England to talk to him. After each target you kill, you will be reward with a medallion that you can bring back to Hytham.
There are two types of order members. Zealots and inner circle members. Zealots are often high level targets which roam around specific regions on the map. Inner circle members have fixed locations and are linked to other bigger targets.
Zealots and where to find them:
Zealots move randomly and are not guaranteed to be in the provided locations. If they are not there, your best bet is to ride along main roads in the given district until you find them. Check your map frequently.
Zealot #1: Woden / Level 220 – Cent.
Zealot #2: Heike / Level 160 – Essexe.
Zealot #3: Bercthun / Level 340 – Hamtunscire.
Zealot #4: Hrothgar / Level 160 – Suthsexe
Zealot #5: Cudberct / Level 90 – Oxenefordscire
Zealot #6: Horsa / Level 90 – Oxenefordscire
Zealot #7: Osgar / Level 160 – Lincolnscire
Zealot #8: Kendall / Level 20 – Grantebridgescire
Zealot #9:Beorhtsige / Level 280 – Glowecestrescire
Zealot #10: Wealdmaer / Level 130 – Sciropescire
Zealot #11: Cola / Level 160 / Eurvicscire
Zealot #12: Callin / Level 190 / Eurvicscire
Zealot #13: Eorforwine / Level 20 = Grantebridgescire
Zealot #14: Redwalda / Level 20 – Ledecestrescire
Zealot #15: Wuffa / Level 55 – East Anglia
After you’ve found and eliminated all Zealots and Inner Circle targets, reporting back to Hytham completes the quest “Breaking the Order” and reward you with Thor’s Cape.
Finally, Thor’s Hammer:
Nearing the end of the game and after you’ve completed 15 out of the 16 regions in England, you will return to Norway.
Without giving much away, the below area will become accessible through the story shortly after returning to Norway.
With everything equipped (Thor’s Cape, Battle Plate, Helmet, Gauntlets and Breeches), head to this location in Hordafylke.
You will now be able to interact with Thor’s Hammer and are now worthy!
