I think with the whole backlash about that baby gamers article a couple of weeks ago and with Rich being vocal on Twitter that he’d wish easy games would just go away, I don’t think we’re ever going to see an easy games article ever again.
I hope for a reworked sale article, perhaps with "best short games" as one of the categories. That would cut out the dross being highlighted, but the highest rated easy game introduced me to some really enjoyable games I'd never have known about otherwise. Rich doesn't dislike all easy games (there's plenty on his card), it's the GS abuse he's really got an issue with.
imagine how much traffic is lost on this site and money for the devs and Microsoft without those articles...hurts everyone in the long run
Which “baby gamer” article was this? I don’t remember anything egregious? TA has been doing traffic grabbing headlines and articles for awhile (the kind that get good search engine rankings and mildly clickbait headlines), I assume because they want to expand to a certain extent.
Meet the Xbox player whose 1,000,000G speedrun hit 25% in just one dayThis article, plus the back and forth between Rich and TA members. It wasn't pretty.
Oh yeah I read that article but totally forgot the dude’s Gamertag. I forget Rich’s Gamertag but those threads are never pretty. I re-read the first 3 pages and the last two but that thread has 33 pages and I bet only about one page worth of worthwhile comments.
I don’t read Twitter or even have an account. I assume I have a marginally happier life because of this just based on the comments people share about their Twitter experiences.
Thank you though, I appreciate you digging up the article, I’d searched and scrolled through the News but obviously was looking for the wrong thing.
Not a knock on Rich per se, but I don’t envy people trying to run online businesses these days, I think the internet eventually starts to break their brains a bit because they can never turn it off for a few days. I try and give anyone a slight pass on getting aggro every so often if they’re stuck online all the time. I’ve been on the internet since the 90s and I gotta say, back then we really had envisioned something much different and much better than what we ended up with.
I don’t know what the answer fixing the XBox marketplace, but I’m not unhappy with the choices I do have, plenty of outstanding undies and even some really great AA and AAA games to choose from. I hope those keep showing up.
