Could not agree more. The reason Rock$tar and other developers get away with this so much is because players will pay for advantages, so if it costs little for them to develop it, it's nothing but pure profit for them.
This doesn't even grant advantages though. That's $6.00 for a basketball jersey, some useless liveries & $500K... The Aquarius is the worst Yacht option, it's most expensive but comes with the worst speed boat in the game and the worst design for the counter piracy mission.. You can earn way more than $500K doing nearly nothing at all these days.. They give away so many cars every month as it is so why would another car mean anything.. Race bonuses in this decade?? Lol.
This is insulting whether you're a 2013 player like myself or some kid just getting into the game... There's no real value here. Rare clothes & liveries don't have any value anymore when everything is given out and when it's on sight for 99% of the player base... When you had to compete in crate drops they had way more value because you actually had to compete for them.
They should add decor options and other unique options or limited run missions that offer something different or interesting... Maybe throw in secret sales or discount codes for the Rockstar Shop, do something that incorporates other GTA titles, do contests amongst members for unique game & irl items.. There's a ton of concepts anyone could come up with for a subscription based GTA club that blow this nonsense out of the water.... You could get real deep too... Like a contest to help create or voice a new character, or to help create new mission... Design your own car or clothes... There's a ton of fun to be had.
