There, be happy complainers
TLDR: There aren't actually more easy games out there than moderate/hard games. It's just you all's perception that leads you to believe this.
The number of easy games vs moderate/hard games was never the issue (for most of us anyways). It was the issue of quick and easy completions getting an unproportionate amount of coverage on the site.
But, since you brought it up, I would argue:
1.) You are using a sample size of 1 week
2.) There is much bigger estimate criteria for 'not so easy' completions. The 'easy' list only counts games between '0-5' hours, whereas the 'not so easy' list counts games from 15 hours to 300.
3.) The art of publishers selling gamerscore is a relatively new development, really taking hold in 2018. Since then, more and more publishers are jumping on the trend and effortless gamerscore titles are absolutely on pace to outnumber longer completions.
4.) Since most 'gamerscore for sale' games are already modestly priced, there isn't a big of need to put them on sale. Most of the quick and easy games on sale are adventure games that are inherently short, or games that have exploits that allow for quick completions. There aren't any Ratalaika, Xitilon, SometimesYou or Chilidog games on this week's sale, nor do those games go on sale as often as you would think.
Just saying.
