Then look at xbox sales....*Shakes head in disappointment*
When the *frick* has Nintendo ever had a great game for sale at a cheap price? Breath of the Wild is still full price even though it's sequel has come out and it's been 6 years! No first-party Nintendo games ever seem to go lower than $39.99.
Yeah third party Switch titles are often on a good sale but Nintendo is the greediest of the 3 when it comes to first party game pricing and that’s saying something.
Nintendo switch eshop sales at a cheap price...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KqMyD-ccm0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIb9Ja5ID5YCapcom bailed nintendo multiple times with it's sale...Before the nintendo eshop was closing...Capcom had sales from $10.00 or less on there games...
Nintendo first party games the lowest I think I seen it go down is 30%...So yeah your right it's around $39.99(even on black friday) and nintendo may be greedy...
but there game sale lineup is so diverse(due to there third party support and the third party support they have cheap good games on a weekly basis)...I mean Cris Tales cost around $8.00 right now...
I mean I can’t argue against people who want to pick up cheap games on the Switch, but for me most of those 3rd party titles end up on XBox and stuff like Cris Tales goes on sale for just as cheap (and was in Game Pass for awhile) while stuff like Monster Hunter Rise is a lot better (even if delayed in comparison) so I’m okay with it all. I don’t play Pokémon anymore since my kid is grown and Metroid is probably the only Nintendo property I really miss, my Switch purchase was spur of the moment and I actually regret it because I’ve gotten so little out of it.
Still I can see the appeal of the Switch for people not like me, I just don’t think cheap third party sales are one of them unless there’s a huge pile of dirt cheap, best of the bunch indies on Switch that aren’t making it to XBox.
So little out of it...The switch has zelda, pokemon, fire emblem, smash bros, mario, luigi, donkey kong, metroid, kirby, xenoblade chronicles, animal crossing...etc...etc...etc...but if you get so little out of your nintendo switch...well I can't do nothing about that...
I know these games are not what you call dirt cheap...but...
The only reason I think I got a switch was to play the Disgaea games. Xbox does not have any of the Disgaea games except for Disgaea 4 on windows not on console(which I think the last sale of that game on windows was around $15.00). Disgaea 4, 5, and 6 when they are on sale go about $20.00 each on the switch and playstation.
And playstation and switch also has the mana games(trails, secret, and legend of mana). They are updated games from the original...which I think when they are on sale cost $20.00 each. Xbox doesn't have any of those games.
And the big elephant in the room. Final Fantasy Pixel remastered...Yeah I seen this game on sale also...it's not cheap...Xbox may or may not get this game...it's a toss-up with that game...I don't know...
And I know that xbox has some cheap indie, third party first party games that the playstation and switch doesn't have...But that's some of the games...that I wish xbox has but doesn't...and goes on sale on switch and playstation.
Hey man, I agree that Nintendo has a lot of first party titles that a lot of people love. I was trying to make clear that I simply don’t care about them (save for Metroid) and so for me my Switch was a bad purchase. I know it’s weird for someone to not care about Zelda but I just don’t. The only Mario game I ever thought was cool was the space one with all the planets. I used to drag my daughter to competitive Pokémon all over my part of the US so if I never play another Pokémon game it’ll be too soon (I hear breeding and EV training is far less of a nightmare now but it’s still blech for me).
I’m happy for anyone who loves their Switch. For me, though, I wish I still had my $200 (or whatever I spent on it).
