How to unlock the The Beaconator achievement
To create and fully power a beacon you will need to complete two separate tasks. The first is to construct a beacon itself which requires a Nether Star. The Nether Star is dropped from the Wither after he is killed and is a 100% drop rate.
The second part requires collecting enough materials to build the pyramid. They can be built from Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emeralds or a combination of all 4. The pyramid is 4 levels tall and must be made of Blocks, ie Iron Block, Gold Block etc. Here is the full list of materials.
Layer 1 - 9x9 square of blocks. 729 Iron/Gold Ore or Emeralds/Diamonds
Layer 2 - 7x7 square of blocks. 441 Iron/Gold Ore or Emeralds/Diamonds
Layer 3 - 5x5 square of blocks. 225 Iron/Gold Ore or Emeralds/Diamonds
Layer 4 - 3x3 square of blocks. 81 Iron/Gold Ore or Emeralds/Diamonds
This leaves a 1 block space at the top of the pyramid for the Beacon itself. You must then sacrifice 1 Iron Bar, 1 Gold Bar, 1 Emerald or 1 Diamond to power the pyramid. You must also select your Pyramid Effect when you do this. Powering the pyramid via the Beacon block will unlock the achievement.

Import tutorial world from Xbox one edition. Then load up the world and in the middle of town is a beacon that's at level 1. There are two towers with rings of emerald, diamond, and gold blocks on them. Build scaffolding with your block of choice to collect the blocks and finish the pyramid to level 4. All levels of the pyramid must be made of iron, gold, diamond, or emerald. When done break and reattach beacon block and POP. Your done.
Edit: I forgot to add that you need to sacrifice an ingot to the beacon when your done. Happy hunting!
All you need to do is go to the tutorial and find the beacon. The requirements for the beacon is 9×9, 7×7, 5×5, 3×3, and then the Beacon. You can definitely mine the already made beacon with a pickaxe. I used a stone pickaxe. Basically just go and get an iron pickaxe from a chest and go to the gold rings and mine the gold blocks and emerald blocks. Not to mention the diamond blocks by the beacon. All those blocks work for a beacon. You do not need only one type of block, you can use many.
