*** Achievement is now obtainalbe again ***
Completing the collection can be seen equal to completing the game and having cleared a stage with every character. For this reason I will provide general tipps for combat/earlie game - composition- and strategiewise.
This guide will be seperated for beginners/people with no characters unlocked and players with a medium sized collection.
________
Overall:Checking your Do-Do`s:To complete the collection you have to fullfill 126/144 different quests, with not every quest is connected to a collectible.
You can check your "COLLECTION" in the main menue, behind a button of the same name.
The requirements for the unlock based collectibels can be checked under "UNLOCKS", to see what you have and compare it with this list:
_____
I REPEAT:
Since several people reply to this guide that they have (124 or 125 of the total 126 or) 139 or 142 of the total 144, you can check the missing idems yourself here:
_____
Note that some collectibels are not part of either natural progression nor unlocks.
This is the only real
guide there is to this achievement.
Since it might spoil some of the game experience/challenge or suprises, I will hide it.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Your natural progression in the game is typicaly linked to finding new charakters in certain maps. After you found them you can unlock tehm via goldbased purchases. Unfortunately some of the charakters cant be unlocked this way without having certain interactions ans special setting.
Since this is a guide for the achievment, Im listing the easiest way:
That way is: spells aka cheat codes that can be used after obtaining the Forbidden Scroll
The Character and coresponding weapon you want/need are Queen Sigma/Victory Sword and Avatar Infernas/Flames of Misspell, whom are accessible via the spell "kalvasflam" and "allatonce".
Once you entered the spells you can purchase them via gold in the charactershop.
A list of all spells can be found here:
https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/Spell
Both of there weapons have to be evolved to obtain the required collection entry.
This is done by leveling them up with Torrona's Box and both can be done at the same time, but that is a bit tricky.
You chose Queen Sigma as a charakter. Since she is a little bit out of balance, she is equiped with more than 100 rerolls. The trick then is simple, as you level up and do not see any of the desired items (namely Torrona's Box and Flames of Misspell) offered, reroll till you find them. - If you do not find them in 110+ rerolls, you might not have them unlocked. So here are the requirement:
Torrona's Box: is unlocked by holding 6 different weapon evolutions at once.
Flames of Misspell: Avatar Infernas must be purchased.
Another tricky thing about the collection is a group of five colecctibles that remain locked. Those are connected to the Gemini Card, Card #1. The collectibles are duplicated versions of the "pairbased" weapons.
To unlock thos is spretty simple: Play as either Giovanna or Pugnala and chose the Gemini Card. just die and it will be added to the collection.
[Since this was my last collectible, the achievement poped right when i picked the card. Therefore I cant tell if you need to die to save it in the commection or can quit - anyways dying should not take more than a minute or two and you should be save]
If you dont have Gemini, see:
https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/Gemini_(I)
or
You can do this Achievment slowely and many things will be unlocked without grinding for them.
Once you get used to the game, you will know enouth of the menue and unlock system that you can manouver it on your own.
the only general tipp for the later challenges and for the ones involving leveling weak characters is, that you should think about completing the "31 Minute" challenge before struggeling with hopeless characters. You can read more aboput that under Experienced Players/Card #8.
It does not sound like a good tipp for a guide like this, but it is the way you can finish it in an easy way:
Check your locked challenges and do what the game tells you needs to be done.
If you encounter any difficulty, please comment and I will try to extend this guide.
Beforehand: One of the most important Items is the map. With that you can see all items in relative postition to yourself.
Just follow ShadowRavens Guide and you will be fine:
________
Beginners:Combat: Vampire survivors is a rogue-like shoot ’em up. Each time you start you begin with a naked character.
Your chraracter attacks/fires at approaching enemies in a set intervall.
Your enemies have a chance to drop experience points in form of gems.
Gain experience points to level up your character.
Each level allows you to choose a new item or to upgrade one in you inventory.
The task is simple: Kill foes, level up and kill more foes to improve equipment and
survive.
Every 60 seconds, the enemy type changes - with differnet variations in amount, hitpoints, speed and damage.
I think it is every 120 seconds that a miniboss spawns. killing those grants you a chest to collect. Each chest either gives you an upgrade to your equipment, or upgrades a weapon to its super-from.
There are 30 waves to fight through. Once completed, the game ends automaticaly.
Gear/Passive Items:Your inventory has got up to
6 slots for weapons and 6 slots for gear.
Each weapon has a coresponding piece of gear, wich can be combined into a super version of said weapon. Those super-forms can only be accessed via looting of a bossdroped chest, while already beeing at their max level. The gearpiece will remain unchanged from the combination-upgrade.
Overall tipp: dont pick up the chests, if you do not have the equipment pais maxed out. The pairs can be seen in the grimoire, wich is unlocked for ingame use later on. Once unlocked, just pause the game and press "open grimoire".
You can also check it here:
Power UpsDespite it beeing a rogue-like, a small part of your porgress carries over. Collected gold can be spend for power-ups under the green marked "POWER UP" button in main menue.
Gold drops from some enemies, but mainly from pieces of furniture, bushes or other destructible decorations in the levels. If you want to know the specific item, it is dispalyed in the middle of the stages picture in
stage selection.
The most important items you can power up are the following:
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
Amout- giving you an extra shot per attack trigger - in the eraly game it basicly doubles your attackpower [more attack => more kills => more EXP
Might - increases your damage delt, allowing you to kill more enemies. This saves some healthpoints and grands you EXP faster. [more attack => more kills => more EXP]
Cooldown - increases your firerate [more attacks => more kills => more EXP] its basicly an extension of "might"
Growth - Increases Experice gain per gem [more EXP => more EXP]
Magnet - This pulls gems and other drops toward you and gives you freedom of movement. [more paths to chose from => less damage taken => longer runs]
Others have their relevancy, but the ones above have the highest impact in early game
Characters:Each character is equiped with a unique weapon.
Each wepaon can be aquired later on by leveling so the character chosen "only limits" you to the first weapon you have to use.
For beginners I would recomment a weapon that has a set direction of attack. This would be Antonio, Gennaro or Imelda.
With targeted attacks you can kill offspecific enemies and gain exp. "Random" weapons are harder to maintain a crowd controll with and gem pickups are harder to maneuver.
New Characters:New Characters are hidden behind two "wall". The first is, to reach a certain area of the map and defeating a group of spwaning enemies. After that is done, you can purchase them via gold in character selection.
At this point: Just play a little and get used to the game unlock more charakters and try yourself out. You will get ues to it faster than you think.Cards:Vampire Survivors has a bonus-effect system that involves Arcanes aka "cards".
In order to use them you have to find Randomazzo, wich is located in Gallo Tower
https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/RandomazzoThere is total of 22 cards to collect. Once collected one can be chosen at the beginning of the stage and up to 3 others are rewarded by random chest drops.
Weapons:The following weapons are (from my judgement and for beginners) the most relieable of them.
- 1. Whip
- this item can be combined with the Hollow Heart into a more powerfull whip
- 2. Magic Wand - it fires at your next enemy; its upgraded version is fireing non stop
- 3. Santa Water - despite beeing a random attack, its upgraded version is one of the strongest in the game, securing a nearly unpassable ring of holy water around you and provides a save area.
- 4. Lightning Ring - Due to beeing upgraded with the "Dublicator", a gearpiece that gives you 1 respc. 2 more projectiles, it is nearly a auto pick if offered
- (5. Runetracer - This is able to deal a lot of damage, since it upgraded versions shoot several projectiles that pass through enemies. but due to its slow fire rate and randomness, its not a reliable in eraly game situations.)
________
Experienced PlayersCharactersYou can use whomever you are acustomed with.
I tend to start with Minnah since he/she alread got the upgraded Whip, which leaves a passive item slot open for other things. In Boss Rash, I tend towards RD
because of the DPS and movement speed.
Skipping, Rolling and BanishingAfter completing a certain amount of collectibels, you are given perks/are able to by perks that allow you to skip level up choices, banish items from appearing or reroll the options. Use this to your advantage and prevent useless items for entering your inventory.
e.g.
Card VIIII / Card #8: Mad Grove:This is the strongest of cards oyu can aquire, despite the only thing it does, is to pull any kind of item on the map next to you.
In doing that, it pulls every gem/EXP there is on the mpa right next to you, as well as every hidden (non collectible) item.
With this you can skip picking up EXP gems an concentrate on fighting/killing.
Every 120 seconds, as the card triggers its effect, you can then collect all the gems at once and level up. You dont lose any EXP from running away.
In addition, this card pulls the gear that forms your endgame composition right next to pick up once ready.
The Problem with this is, that you have to reach minute 31 to unlock it. Therefore you have to aquire the endgame gear with searching it on the map and running for it. This typicaly takes about 15-20 minutes of walking in straight lines. This sounds hard, but is quiet easie on the linear stages such as Library (left and right corridor) or Gallo Tower (up and downwards corridor). On those maps, you basicly can not miss these items, even without the maps, if you keep your eyes open.
Endgame Equipment:Every stage contains extra gear, with four pieces I would name
special gears. Any gear hidden in the stage can be picked up ater already having 6 slots filled. Therefor I would recomment to only pick them up after filling you inventory.
The secial gears are two red ones and two rings. Once picked up, they spawn a special, high healthed enemy. You dont need to kill them, but they drop a golden egg that gives you a permanent 0.1% bonus on a random stat of your cahracter. Its not very much but nice to have - and you also dont want them to chase you the rest of the game.
Each pair of special gears is corresponding with a weapon.
The red ones are connected to
Laurel
and combine into the
Crimson Shroud
and the
Clock Lancet
ist combined with the two rings combine into the
Infintie Corridor
What to keep in mind with these gearpieces:
The pieces alter overall stats for you and your enemies. In short, they buff them up.
Therefore you want to pick them and level them up
after finishing you other equipment.
The Problem is, that they are spread around the map.
Beating 31 Minutes / Surviving the StagesThe Crimson Shroud is a purely defensive tool, that makes you bascily immortal, limiting incoming damage to 10hp.
The Infinite Corridor halfes enemy starting HP and also stuns them. In its way, its the highest DPS beast in you inventory, but unable to finish enemies.
With those two effects combinet you can exceed after the 30 minutes have passed.
This ist how it is functioning:
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
- The Crimson Shroud blocks all damage taken from the reaper and limites it to 10hp.
- The Infinite Corridor freezes the reaper in place, not allowing it to attack you.
- To make sure you dont die to unfortunate timing of the Reapers attacks inbetween stuns, you should at this point also have equiped the Fuwalafuwaloo https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/Fuwalafuwaloo (If you are not familiar with this one, it is a combination of the whips, that heals you for every hit done.)
In sum, you out-heal a stuned Reapers damage, while slowely killing it. The Reaper should fall without any trouble.
Sometimes you are to strong to make it to 31:00 and end the game at 30:30-30:40ish. If you feel to strong, just run away as the reaper is stunned so you dont damage the foe.
This needs to be done several times to unlock all cards:
End Game:After obtaining Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane you can use spells
________
If you find anything, that is missing in this guide, hit me up with a DM or leave a comment. I know it cant be the best guide, since I only returned to the game yesterday. Therefore I have moste likely forgotten a lot of things.
Thanks to Rafael D Arroyo for adding suggesting this solution:
In order to complete the collection you need the
candy box, which is obtained by unlocking the character
Big Trousers.
To unlock him you need to evolve all 16 support items in a single run on the
moonglow map (use endless mode), after that you need to actually find the candy box on a run with a character other than
Big Trousers, finding the candy box is a pain, the way I did was fill all slots and evolve all items, then the
candy box has a chance of dropping from a
chest instead of a money bag.
