The Parade Master is a slow paced introduction to boss battles in Lies of P. The fight is divided into 2 phases with the second phase adding a few new attacks. Your gear loadout shouldn’t matter as long as you remember to dodge (
) and guard (
).
Perfectly timed guards will help get the boss to a staggered state quicker. When the Parade Master’s health bar turns white, hold
until it releases a charged attack that staggers the boss. After it drops from the blow, position yourself to the right of the Parade Master’s head and attack its weak point for massive damage.
Phase 1
During phase 1, the majority of the attacks can be guarded/blocked with
. When the Parade Master glows red, it is about to do an unblockable attack. You may still block it to reduce damage, but the best option is to dodge/run out of the way. In this phase, the Parade Master will:
- Charge: When the Parade Master lowers its left shoulder it will charge at you. Dodge or run to the side to avoid getting hit.
- Body Slam: The Parade Master will take a few steps forward, then use its whole body to slam on the ground. Make sure you dodge out of the way.
- 2-Fist Slam: If you see both the boss arms go above and behind its head, move out of the way to avoid getting hit by a double fist slam.
- 2 Arm Swipe: When both of the Parade Master’s arms cross above its head, they will both swing out at the same time. This should be guarded/blocked to mitigate damage.
- Cage Slam: At 50% health, the boss will grab the cage from its back and slam it down. Dodge the attack and move in for a few free hits while it recovers and transitions to phase 2.
Phase 2
In phase 2, the Parade Master will use its head as a melee weapon. Most of these attacks will be telegraphed once you get used to seeing the animations. During this phase, the Parade Master will also:
- 2-Swing Combo: If you see the melee weapon pulling back, be ready to guard 2 incoming swings.
- 3-Swing Combo: The boss will swing the head to its left side just before releasing a 3-swing combo that starts with a backhand swing, guard or dodge out of the way.
- Melee Tap: When the Parade Master taps the head on the ground, it will do 1 of 2 attacks.
- Overhead Slam: The boss will raise the melee weapon high above its head before slamming it to the ground which should be avoided. The animation is long enough that you should see it coming.
- 2-Swing Combo: This is the same attack as the first on this list, guard to mitigate damage.
